Katie Robb Sewall, LPC, MS
I received my Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Carlow University in 2013. I became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2017 and a National Certified Counselor in 2019. I have experience working with a wide variety of clients--from adults dealing with trauma to career counseling to conducting family therapy.
I work primarily with adults experiencing emotional challenges. This often looks like depression, anxiety, grief, or trauma. I also work with a lot of individuals going through a transition in life, relationships, career, or health status. During a difficult season in life we are more open to learning new skills and perspective. When we are struggling, I believe that empathy, humor, and a guide can go a long way; I seek to provide that in a respectful environment.
Would you consider letting me walk with you?
“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.”

My Approach
—
My approach to therapy is personable and collaborative. I help people who are stuck or lost to identify what is getting in the way so that they can live a meaningful life. My style is coaching-oriented and requires that both I and my client work. I enjoy creating an environment for people to mindfully sort through emotions, thoughts, and actions. My goal is to come alongside my clients to empathically support and coach my clients toward living their authentic life. My theoretical approach to therapy is a blend of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I utilize mindfulness and EMDR (a trauma-specific therapy). Speaking of EMDR, if you like EMDR and want to work more intensively on trauma, then I sometimes offer EMDR Intensives, which are 3+ hours.

Services

I offer therapy for individuals. I am able to take most commercial insurance plans (UPMC, Highmark, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, United/Optum, Lyra). For those that do not want to use insurance, I have a few slots available for out-of-pocket or sliding scale payment. Please note that insurance does not cover EMDR intensives.
I also offer workshops for groups and workplaces upon request.
